The name originates from a fascination with Indian philosophy, which coincided in time with the desire to test, as far as possible, without attracting any investments and administrative resources (the so-called "connections") in an unfamiliar market to build the so-called "business", that is, a source of income.
Who we are?
theKarma are two people with technical and commercial competencies.
We are at the origins of wifi marketing in the Russian Federation. When we started, there were only 4 companies involved in wifi-authorization in the world. In early 2013, we connected the first objects, Baga bar and Oki-Doki on Novokuznetskaya. By the beginning of 2020, more than 1700 objects in the Russian Federation, the CIS and abroad were working on our software.

The short and simple answer is yes, because no one can figure out how code actually works! And even if person "dive deep", it will be very difficult to refine further due to a lack of understanding of what grew out of what. And at one fine moment he will give up everything, due to nervous tension. It's like putting on someone else's skin and wearing it, taking care of it - you still have the feeling that it's not yours. And even money won't help, it will only prolong the agony. By the way, this is also a response to the frequent misunderstanding of "business", why it is easier to write code again than to modify what is already 95% written. Because then at least there is a chance that the product will live and develop.

Returning to open-source, they began to write us many letters from different countries of the world asking us to explain what and how it works there, and in fact, what was supposed to simplify, actually complicated it - and began to take up a significant amount of time, and 90% are just engineers and programmers interested in technology; trying to make a little income at 1-2 restaurants/hotels, nothing more, may be a big deal.

In 2021, we removed the code from GitHub and now we provide the solution on a commercial basis, and only to those who are truly interested, and so that the time spent setting up servers and explaining the capabilities and limitations of the technology is paid for and not wasted. And we don't leave these people to their fate, but walk alongside them. In fact, this is beneficial for both us and our partners. In fact, this is the case with any mass-produced open-source product.

The classic version of obtaining Wi-fi in accordance with the law of the Russian Federation, by phone number, as well as its marketing varieties, through social networks, showing a video, conducting a survey, with a half-redirected redirect to a site or page on a social network.
Wi-Fi sniiffer/ radar / snare / sensor
The recent use of wi-fi technology, which involves "listening" to air for packets sent by devices that contain a unique physical identifier for the device, the MAC address. The MAC addresses collected in this way are sent to advertising platforms (Yandex.Audiences, myTarget), where they acquire the form of audience segments where contextual advertising can be displayed.

For 7 years, I had a chance to see quite a lot of different approaches to wifi, its monetization methods and promotion technologies, as well as its connection with other data sources, such as face recognition, car numbers, Bluetooth, digital signage by cash terminals, loyalty programs, etc. in different areas of business.
